Zex, please consider that there is more then one way to skin a cat, or to make an rpg. Sounds like you're very close minded to the idea of having open levels and just want to rush into a game instead of building something that can last.

I am trying to explain to you the way I felt the moment I entered TLI and found out that people were well into the 100-150 level range, and I was struggling just to make it to level 2. Demoralized, unimportant, miniscule, worthless. Those four adjectives come to mind almost instantly and it is something that needs to be considered when it seems that you and your camp seem dead set on an open level system, and can not be dissuaded from it.

I think Zex really hit it out of the park here. There are a lot of problems with having a capless system, and many of these will be issues regardless of the system we use. I will go into more detail on what I see as these problems but right now I just want to throw my lot in with Zex because the two of us agree pretty much completely on this matter. So while I won't be elaborating on why I feel this way until after I have my coffee I want to say something in the meantime. I don't think there's close-mindedness or impatience here. What's going on is that Zex and I (and from my conversations with others in private, several others though I will let them speak for themselves) see how negatively a capless system could affect the game and are staunchly opposed to it for that reason. That is not close-mindedness, that is dedication.
