(this is a typical Dwarven write up if we use non normal feel free to remove or keep for a basis just trying to help.
Dwarves
Dwarves, while they are a little reclusive, this has nothing to do with hating people... but instead has everything to do with the craft they follow. Dwraven people are famous for being highly skilled in crafts of every type, but are mastered in four. Dwarven society is rather unique as in it doesn't value slavery at least not from people from the outside world, they do almost everything themselves.
Their world consist of a caste system.
They have their nobles as every community does, but these nobles are not decided by blood but by skill, the nobles are the highest masters of the crafting world in Dwarven society, the best miners, best blacksmiths, the best brewers (Some one has to make all that drink, if they outsourced would cost millions!) And of course, the faithful miners and warriors the backbone of the Dwarven world and trade centers.
Dwarves go into a few other caste below the nobles:
Warrior Caste, these are the defense, when you mine in the mountains and as deep as they do, you uncover a lot of very dangerous things in the world... and some one has to protect the miners, this job is one that is not taken with much joking, sure they drink they sing, but when it comes to battle they have a rather scary ability to enter Beserker stances and basically decimate the enemies with little to no real care of themselves, which make them some of the most feared warriors in the realm.
Crafting Caste, this one is the biggest of all the Caste, just for everything they cover, from the Miners (Yes, finding the jewels and maximizing things as in ores and jewels does take a lot of skill), the Smiths, they are the best in the world or so it is said, people try to get them to sell most of their wares but sadly they only sell a small amount every year, most of it goes to the Warrior Caste. The Brewers are rumored to be a back bone of the world, because how much these guys drink... with their body mass it is odd how they are not a pool of drunken idiots..
Finally almost equal to most of the Crafting Caste is the Merhcant Caste, these guys are shrewd, and could take your clothes from your back, in legit sales while getting you drunk as well. This Caste is rather small even for their massive populations.
And the final and last Cast, the unknowns, these are people who fit no where in society or have lost out to politics between the different Caste, a lot of past merchants... who said they were nice and kind? Just because the women can be just as fuzzy as the males, they are not the sweetest group of men. Dwarves are rather brilliant to specialize in so many things, their minds must be just as sharp as the rest of their skills... the Unknowns are those who literally were nut enough to be a master, those who tried to surpass their masters in challenges... but it didn't work well...
Dwarven society is very complex as while it is highly counting of skills and also cunning...
Dwarven cities are built deep into some fo the tallest mountains, some of them pay tithes to the dragons to make sure they can live happily and it has been rather good business for these two creatures... if you approached a mountain city you would find a few buildings outside and a rather large entrance, but once you went inside the noise was extraordinary, the bustling of people, laughing and jeering on off hours of work, the merchants trying to trade...
