Okay, so we need names for our currency. I'm all in favor of something simple that I can spell without needing to copy-paste. We start off with 200 gold each, which can be either a piddly little sum or a lot depending on how much everything is priced. What do you guys think about how much 200 gold actually should be? Also, how do you feel about differing denominations? Should we opt to have 200 silver instead, with gold coins each being 10 silver? Would we need denominations smaller than silver?
Generally, how much do you guys think the coin we start with should actually be worth?

I agree.. gold is just a standard rp currency.. i'm ok with keeping that way.. was thinking that gold would be for actual items that can be meaningful for your character.. silver would be an untracked currency for food and drink and other token expenses?
thoughts on that?

Hm... Yeah, the idea of a 'token' currency is pretty decent since worrying about living costs is silly! We do enough of that in real life, hehe. How would we work with platinum, Ayres? It might work as a condensed form of currency, to be sure, and maybe a way to pay for extremely expensive things... Or as a component required for some of the top-of-the-line jewelry? It'd definitely be a way to store your money, melting platinum into a ring or something. xD

Well like everquest it is kinda also like our old hangouts money, 100-100-100-1 i.e. 100 cop =1 silver and so fourth really, it is just kinda a way to allocate change so some one doesnt have 4k copper or something lol.

i think that the 200 gp at lvl one should be sufficient to support a character through a few weeks of living in the inn, adventuring, getting cheap items that sort of thing, enough to let you get a nice item with maybe a masterwork quality, or a spell scroll or two, something to add to the char while still providing that incentive to keep playing, of course, i am assuming that a scroll would be 80 gold or something, or a master worked item was 150-175 gold, also i think the item slots on a char should conform relatively closely to pathfinder or dnd as those are rather well thought out systems. perhaps for the platinum you could make it a quest reward at higher levels, like you find a small bar of plat, and have to find a collector to buy it and trade it for equivalent gold, as such valuable currency in a shop would be a poor idea, since thieves will probably be introduced to that game.
