Elves were split into three different subsets depending on the places they settled after the gods put them on the earth. One group settled in a vast dense forest and became the subset known as wood elves one on a large rolling plain they became the sun or high elves and one in the cleft of two mountains away from the sun and the elements. These elves were known as the moon or dark elves. This is a description of each subsets major city culture religion and descriptions. I am open to changes and suggestions and new ideas so if you have any please feel free to share, and remember these are just my ideas nothing is set till they are approved.
Going to post them up one at a time to get feed back and the like. The first are the Sun Elves. if the basic descriptions are liked then i will go into more detail and add in the suggestions that make sense

Sun Elves
Sun Elves were the tallest of their kin ranging from five foot six to six foot and tended to be rather diverse in hair color and eye color though blonde dominated their looks and blue eyes were the most common. They had a way with magic that no other race seemed to have a grip on and it showed in their mannerisms and skills with it. It seemed almost every sun elf knew a few magic tricks to make their daily life better. They tended to be peaceful and calm, if to the point of almost cold. They found peace in serenity and their god in the quiet morning. But they also knew how to celebrate and live life as well thinking all things should be done in balance. They had a democratically elected government with one minister and a counsel of eight from the eight provinces that white tower controlled and were claimed as sun elf lands. They do not believe in slavery thinking everyone rich or poor should have a voice in their future.
White Tower
The rolling foothills and plains were dominated by a white spire that looked like it could reach to the sun with a circular city sprawled out around it with high walls. Then spread into farms and ranches throughout the plain. White tower was the city’s name and the center of the sun elves world. The tower housed the academy the center of magical learning that all could come study at. Not just the sun elves, though all the teachers were sun elves, and they followed the beliefs of the sun elves. The rest of the city was a sprawl of markets and shops and homes the closer to the tower being the more expensive and prominent the shop or home the further away slipping into poorer and poorer housing and cheaper markets. There were two major gates that lead out into the farmland beyond the east gate, called the gate of the sun and the south gate, called the kings gate. The temple of the sun sat nestled in next to the tower directly from the eastern gate so the light of the rising sun shown down the street and lit the temple in praise to the god they worshiped.
Religion
The Sun Elves worship the sun or the elven embodiment of the sun in Ammantor the bringer of the day. He is described as a tall strong elf with long golden hair and eyes as blue as the open sky who rides a flaming horse across the sky pulling the sun from its place of rest in the east to the west then back with the moon at night. They believe in balance of life and in all things and see themselves as not good or evil but the judges charged with keeping the balance just like their god keeps the balance between night and day. There are a few things that are frowned on by the church and would get you removed from sun elven society. The first being betrayal serving or giving secrets over to the elves of the moon or anyone else looking to damage their way of life. The second is having or owning slaves or keeping servants against their will or helping someone who owns or sells slaves or profiting from the selling of slaves or servants. And the third and last being breeding with a moon elf and producing a child of mixed blood. There are other things that are also frowned upon. False accusations and lying are both seen as grave sins under the light of the sun god.

The Eclaveyl, a dark elven tribe:
Sylvana, a dark elf who got cast out of the normal society because of her strong bloodlust, left her home and soon found herself surrounded by a couple of other elves who envy her strenght and want to learn from her. With these followers she began to build up her own tribe, a tribe of rangers who don't hesitate to kill, the fight is the only important thing and things like politics or sophisticated behaviour are forgotten. They call themselves Eclaveyl as they are abandoned and cast out of the normal society. These bloodlusting rangers under the lead of Sylvana train themselves in the arts of using strong bows enhanced by magic, the art to be a silent assassin and they also try to figure out if one can learn to fall in the state of bloodlust as their leader, a state were you can't control yourself but your reflexes and strenght are increased. The hierarchy of the Eclaveyl is made up by strenght, with Sylvana in the lead and two shieldmaiden on her sides, these maiden are the two strongest women in the tribe. The base and home of the Eclaveyl is hidden under a big tree, wich is hollow and includes the stairs wich lead down into a large cave. In this cave the Eclaveyl built a small town where every ranger has another job to do when they are not occupied with training.
